FAQ's

• How many roles can I apply to?

  You can only submit one application during each recruitment period, so please apply for the role that best suits your skills and interests, ensuring you meet the minimum entry requirements and eligibility criteria stated in the job advert. When you apply, you're not just being considered for that specific position — you're entering our broader graduate talent pool. Our recruitment team will assess your profile across the programme and may contact you about other opportunities that better align with your strengths, to help ensure the best possible fit for your success.

• What early careers opportunities do you offer?

  We currently have a range of analyst and internship opportunities available across Competition economics, Regulation, Finance and Valuation, and Analytics and Data Science.
  

• Where are Oxera internships available?

  Internships are offered across all of our offices, but availability varies by year and team.

• How long do internships last?

  We typically offer internships ranging from 3 months to 12 months depending on your preference and availability.

  
  

• What are the opening dates for your analyst roles?

  Opportunities to work in our UK, France and Belgium offices will be available to apply from mid September. Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Spain will be available to apply from October 2025.

• What is the deadline for applications?

  Applications for the UK, France and Belgium office will close at the end of October 2025. Applications for Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Spain will close at the end of January 2026.

• What are your entry requirements?

  To be considered for graduate roles at Oxera, you’ll typically need:

  Degree: A 2:1 or above in Economics or Finance (or international equivalent). A postgraduate degree is preferred but not essential.

  Skills: Solid understanding of microeconomics, with experience in data analysis or programming (e.g. Stata, R, Python, Excel).

  Languages: Fluent English is required. A second European language is highly desirable and may be essential for some roles or locations.

  Experience: Prior internships or relevant work experience are helpful but not mandatory.

• I am an international student, do you sponsor work visas?

  Yes, we can provide sponsorship under the skilled worker visa scheme for Analyst roles, but this depends on the specific position and location. Unfortunately, we do not provide sponsorship for internship positions. Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the relevant country.

• What is your application process?

  1. Submit your application via our careers website.
  2. If successful, you will be invited to a 1st stage interview which consists of a short case study and a written exercise.
  3. 2nd stage interview with a partner and principle which involves a short case study.
  4. You will hear from the recruitment team about the outcome of your interview.

• What do I need to prepare for my interview?

  1. Case studies – Practice applying economic theory to real-world problems (e.g. mergers, cartels). It would be useful to research some case studies to better understand some of the challenges we have solved.
  2. Econometrics – Be ready to interpret data and explain statistical results.
  3. Presentations – You may need to analyse and present a short brief clearly.
  4. Motivation – Know why you want to work in economic consulting and at Oxera.
  5. Communication – Show you can explain complex ideas simply and logically.

• When can I expect to hear about the outcome of my interview?

  We aim to get back you after your interview as soon as possible. However, delays are likely due to the volume of applications we receive. We aim to have extended all offers for all of our graduate opportunities by May 2026 at the latest.

• Will I be able to meet people at Oxera before I start?

  Yes, definitely! Before you begin, you’ll have opportunities to meet your team and other new joiners through events like informal meetups and sometimes virtual introductions. We want you to feel part of the Oxera community from day one!

• If my application is rejected, when can I reapply to Oxera?

  You can reapply after 12 months from the date of your previous application. This gives you time to gain more experience or skills before applying again. If you have any questions or want specific feedback, feel free to reach out to the recruitment team—they’re happy to help!

• I have a disability — how can Oxera support me during the recruitment process?

• Do I have to tell Oxera about my disability? How will you use that info?

  It’s totally up to you! If you do share, we keep it private and only use it to make sure you get the support you deserve during the recruitment process.
