At Oxera, data engineering means more than pipelines. It means building bespoke tools, harnessing AI and cloud technologies, and finding creative solutions to our clients' most complex challenges. We're looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join a collaborative, multinational team of economists and data experts, and make a real impact from day one.

What you'll do

  • Design and build auditable, repeatable data pipelines using both local and cloud infrastructure, with data security and best practice at the core.

  • Own the full data lifecycle, from scoping to delivery, including robust architectures, validation frameworks, and scalable ingestion processes.

  • Define and maintain data governance standards, and help mentor junior colleagues navigating complex datasets and tooling.

  • Drive adoption of new technologies, including AI-driven automation and cloud-native solutions, to sharpen our internal capabilities.

What we're looking for

  • Demonstrable professional experience in data engineering or a closely related role.

  • Strong SQL skills and advanced Python for data wrangling and processing.

  • Proven experience designing scalable architectures and managing large datasets in cloud environments.

  • Knowledge of Databricks and Microsoft Azure is a strong plus.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a client-focused mindset.

  • A degree in a quantitative field (or equivalent proven track record), and a genuine curiosity for complex economic questions.

  • Fluency in English is essential; further languages are a bonus.
