Graduate Data Engineer
Locations: Berlin, London, or Munich
For us, "Data Engineering" is a broad discipline. It’s not just designing and building robust data pipelines, but also building bespoke tools, leveraging AI and cloud technologies, and supporting project teams with creative approaches to data generation and data management.
Our goal, always, is to solve our clients' most complex challenges and deliver impactful narratives. For this, we use the right approach for the problem at hand—from cutting-edge technologies to practical, robust solutions.
We are looking for Graduate Data Engineer to support these efforts, blending technical expertise with teamworking skills and a sharp, client-centric mindset.
What you’ll do
Collaborate closely with clients and colleagues to build auditable, repeatable and efficient data pipelines in a compliant way, while adhering to best-practice in data security using local and cloud infrastructure.
Ensure project teams have access to high quality data throughout a project’s lifecycle scoping to delivery by designing data pipelines, collecting data, wrangling and validating data, and conceiving effective data architectures.
Build robust, scalable solutions, not just prototypes, using modern data engineering practices.
Develop and maintain documentation to make data accessible to colleagues.
Support colleagues with embedding datasets and data tools within their projects regardless of the size and the type of data they need.
What we offer
Direct impact on high-profile projects with regulators and global corporations.
A collaborative, multinational environment with top-tier economists and data experts.
Structured career progression, mobility options, and hands-on learning opportunities.
What we’re looking for
A solid understanding of building data pipelines and relevant frameworks and processes.
Experience in using SQL and data wrangling frameworks in Python.
Experience with large datasets, cloud environments, and scalable solutions is a strong plus.
Knowledge of data engineering solutions offered by MS Azure is a strong plus. Knowledge of other cloud frameworks is a plus.
Strong problem solving abilities, analytical skills and a passion for client-centric work.
A curiosity for working on complex economic issues as part of a team of economists, econometricians or statisticians and data experts in a multidisciplinary environment.
An excellent academic record, with an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a quantitative field, with a plausible connection to data engineering. If a relevant degree is not available, a proven track record is essential.
Fluency in English is essential; additional languages are a plus.
